Having previously worked as a Chef for Gordon Ramsay, Jason Small has  worked closely with RCM Catering Equipment on Gordon-Ramsay1a number of occasions over the past few years.

The pace of life in Gordon’s restaurant kitchen is just as you see it portrayed on TV - absolutely always full-on - and sometimes even harder than that. Gordon pays good salaries and expects and demands total commitment and dedication in return. The hours are long, but working alongside some of the best chefs in the country is very rewarding.

Every little detail is attended to throughout the whole Ramsay business concept. Nothing is ever, ever, left to chance.

From basic food hygiene principles and the excellent quality of the fresh produce he uses, right through to the suitability of the catering equipment and the pots and pans he cooks with, Gordon and his senior staff make sure that everything is always top notch’.

‘I thought I was being wound-up as the ‘new boy’ when, at the end of service on my first day, I was told to strip down the oven I’d used that lunchtime, to scrub it clean - inside and out - then rebuild it and polish it ready for the next shift. When the rest of the kitchen brigade started doing the same thing with their ovens and  other kitchen appliances, I realised that this wasn’t a wind-up. At the end of every single shift - every single day and every single week - the same ritual is rigourously followed. All catering equipment is scrubbed clean, walls and floors are sanitised and polished and all fridges are emptied and cleaned in readiness for new, fresh stocks of food. High standards indeed!’’

‘Having been based in the Swindon area since leaving London, I’ve enlisted the services of Andy at RCM Catering Equipment in the last few years for technical advice and general equipment installation and servicing.

I can only speak as I find; the standard and quality of service from RCM Catering Equipment has been nothing short of fantastic’.

I’m impressed that RCM provide insured, CRB-checked engineers who are fully qualified to do the work you’ve asked them to do, they provide little touches like using dust-sheets to maintain a clean floor area when they are working in the kitchen, and they turn up when they say they will. In today’s day and age where capital equipment is at a premium if it can be maintained and kept working, it’s important to have a company that you can rely on to provide a reliable and honest service. For those reasons alone, I thoroughly recommend RCM Catering Equipment to anyone operating in the catering or hospitality industry .

To sum up; If I were still cooking at Ramsay’s and the RCM guys were just a little tiny bit closer to London, they would be right at the top of my personal Catering Equipment contractors list, and I’d be constantly nagging Gordon to get them in to look after his kitchen equipment’.
